Introduction to the The Great Expectations: Creating Marriages Built to Last                             Marriage  Preparation & Enrichment Program

Have you ever wondered whether your marriage could have a purpose and an impact beyond yourself and your immediate family? This question became embedded in the minds of the authors after listening to a talk by Gary Thomas (author of Sacred Marriage & A Lifelong Love), where he asked listeners to ponder the question of whether God created marriage for holiness rather than for happiness. Great Expectations: Creating marriages built to last was inspired by this question. 

Great Expectations: Creating Marriages Built to Last is our signature Christian marriage program designed to help couples build strong, Christ-centered relationships that reflect God’s design for covenant love.

Rooted in biblical principles and grounded in God’s Word, the program equips couples with practical tools, proven counseling strategies, and Scripture-based guidance to deepen intimacy, strengthen communication, and nurture lasting connection.

Great Expectations includes two pathways:
• Marriage Preparation for engaged couples seeking meaningful premarital support
• Marriage Enrichment for married couples who desire to grow closer spiritually and relationally

The program features five interactive sessions, a comprehensive Couples Workbook, and an optional Mentor’s Guide for churches and facilitators.

More than a course, Great Expectations is an invitation to intentionally build a marriage that honors God and endures for a lifetime.

Meet the Program Developers

David and Pushpa Dasari hail from South Africa and have been married for 30 years. Their only daughter Natasha, lives in the USA with her husband Scott and son Caleb.

David is a school administrator and Pushpa is a certified counselor. They are currently based in Shanghai, China.

The Dasari’s have lived in several countries including Qatar, China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. They are passionate about helping marriages and families grow and flourish as they believe that good marriages are the essential building blocks of happy families and  effective societies. 

The Great Expectations Marriage Preparation and  Enrichment program was first published in 2019 as a response to a thought-provoking question posed by Gary Thomas, author of Sacred Marriage and A Lifelong Love, which asks us as Christians, to consider whether God created marriage for holiness rather than for happiness. The Dasari's believe that if God created marriage to make us holy, then it stands to reason that He would have provided u s with a blueprint through scripture. The Great Expectations  program was created to take couples on an exploratory journey of their expectations and dreams, aligning their expectations to godly expectations, culminating in the creation of a marriage mission statement, while using The Bible as the blueprint and true north throughout the 5 session journey. 

It is their hope that your journey through this program will be an enriching experience as you engage with tools that enable you to enrich your marriage, deepen your intimacy and live out a Godly perspective to marriage.
